The NanoScan SP400/SP600 Sample Scanners – for high speed and accuracy positioning

Prior Scientific is proud to announce the release of its new NanoScan-SP400/SP600 Piezo Sample Scanner, delivering the best positioning performance and fastest recovery between Z stacks. Prior Scientific acquired Queensgate Instruments in 2018 and the NanoScan SP400/SP600 combines Prior’s expertise in delivering microscopy solutions with Queensgate’s market leading nanopostioning technology, therefore it is also compatible with the Prior motorized stage, as well as many common microscopes.

The NanoScan-SP400/SP600 has the fastest step settle (less than 10ms) and recovery time between Z stacks alongside integral capacitive positioning feedback sensors, providing market-leading resolution. It also delivers user configurable settings, which is perfect for different sample sizes, weights (loads of up to 500g, with higher loads available on request) and performance needs – the user simply selects the best setting for their application to give them the best results, which no others can deliver at our specification.

Coupled with the Queensgate NPC-D-6110 digital controller the system is easy to use and quick to set up using standard 0-10V analogue input and output. The digital control technology allows unparalleled control of stage movement with variable acceleration/deceleration algorithms, which improves step, settle time by reducing overshoot and prevent stage ringing.

The enhanced features of the NPC-D-6110 digital controller allows the user to configure constant velocity ramps, using digital trigger outputs at user-defined absolute positions and control external equipment such as cameras, offering unparalleled acquisition rates.

“It is tested to function for greater than 10 million full range cycles, showing the quality of this product and thus why our warranties are so grand, as we believe in what we can deliver to our customers,” said Robert Haggart, the Product Manager at Prior Scientific.

The super slim height, 13.7mm, is a feature of the 400um closed loop version, which gives better access for illumination of the sample area. If you require a sample scanner for these applications: optical sectioning producing 3D images, live cell imaging, autofocus systems for time lapse imaging, high content screening, surface analysis, wafer inspection – then this is the best product for you.
