We are pleased to announce that Craig Goodman, former UK Sales Manager at Prior Scientific, has been appointed as product manager at Queensgate. Craig is ideally suited to the role as he has over a decade of experience in international high-tech sales and key account management. Almost all of this experience has been in the field of nanopositioning and piezo technology and he is currently completing a master’s degree in technology innovation.
His appointment comes after the retirement of Queensgate Business Development Manager, Alison Raby. Alison played a key role in building Queensgate’s business and increasing its turnover significantly. She helped introduce state-of-the-art digital control technology for single and multi-axis stages and developed a relationship with Seagate that culminated in a new nanopositioning stage capable of meeting low picometers required for hard disk testing.
Since the Queensgate brand was acquired by Prior Scientific in 2018, there has also been significant development of new nanopositioning products for biological imaging and surface profiling for semiconductor applications. It also moved to the state-of-the-art Electronics Photonics Innovation Centre (EPIC) in Paignton.
Craig intends to use his experience to build on Alison’s legacy of growth. ‘I joined Prior because I saw great potential in the technology, people and company’s commitment to strengthening their product offering, both in traditional and emerging markets. With the recent successes in several Innovate UK’s Analysis for Innovation (A4I) projects, undertaken in collaboration with NPL, we are in a strong position to build on the growth achieved since Prior acquired the Queensgate brand,’ he said.
‘This is the right time to hand on the baton to Craig who has the experience and energy to take the business to the next level,’ added Alison.
Wayne Loschi, Director at EPIC, said, ‘I thoroughly enjoyed working with Alison and look forward to supporting Craig in his new role with Queensgate.’
Alison is planning to use her retirement to pursue her life-long passion for art and will be taking a Fine Art degree.
